It should be noted that casting an invisibility spell while currently invisible will not break the spell and cause the caster to be seen — the effect is simply re-applied. Picking a lock won't break invisibility, but opening the locked door or chest will. You don't get a bounty for lockpicking, though. Pickpocketing in broad daylight: Invisibility will break, but only after you've committed the act.
It will not prevent you from getting caught if you fail, however. Helping sneak past opponents' lines of sight: with the help of Quiet Casting , you can use Invisibility to sneak right in front of opponents. You can't just cast Muffle and run around without Sneaking and be undetectable.

Muffle AND Invisibility is pretty good, even if not sneaking. But not perfect. The enemy might not be able to find you but they will figure out something is up sooner or later and start searching for what it is. Troll sees you the moment you stand up from crouching, and loses you as soon as you go into sneak mode, yet you can jump, run and dash infront of a whole city, and nobody can see you unless you collide with someone. You can crouch in the middle of combat with enemies in the middle of hitting you and they will lose you.
