How long does invisibility last in skyrim

Casting it renders oneself completely invisible for 30 seconds or 75 seconds when dual-cast. Actions such as preparing spells, forging Business Ledgers , dragging objects, drawing weapons , consuming items, jumping, feeding as a Vampire , or swimming do not break the enchantment. The following actions, however, will break the Invisibility spell:.

It should be noted that casting an invisibility spell while currently invisible will not break the spell and cause the caster to be seen — the effect is simply re-applied. However, without Quiet Casting , characters will still be able to detect the caster by the sound of the spell-casting. Invisibility is an effect wrought by alchemical ingredients. Consuming potions created with these ingredients renders one invisible.

Pre-made potions with the Invisibility effect may be sold by alchemists or found as random loot. Any two or three of the following ingredients may be combined at an Alchemy Lab to create an invisibility potion:.

Invisibility will end if the caster: Activates an item including: using levers and buttons, opening doors and containers, grabbing and stealing items. Uses a magical effect other than invisibility including spells, potions, and scrolls. Interacts with a character including attack, pickpocket , and dialogue.

Picking a lock won't break invisibility, but opening the locked door or chest will. You don't get a bounty for lockpicking, though. Pickpocketing in broad daylight: Invisibility will break, but only after you've committed the act.

It will not prevent you from getting caught if you fail, however. Helping sneak past opponents' lines of sight: with the help of Quiet Casting , you can use Invisibility to sneak right in front of opponents. You can't just cast Muffle and run around without Sneaking and be undetectable.

Same with Invisibility, especially since you're "silent" and "invisible" but not "scentless". Originally posted by Zsrai :. Go cast muffle and sneak around Falmer who are blind. They can't detect you. Now run around then without sneaking, eventually they will go into search mode because they know someone is there.

Muffle AND Invisibility is pretty good, even if not sneaking. But not perfect. The enemy might not be able to find you but they will figure out something is up sooner or later and start searching for what it is. Troll sees you the moment you stand up from crouching, and loses you as soon as you go into sneak mode, yet you can jump, run and dash infront of a whole city, and nobody can see you unless you collide with someone. You can crouch in the middle of combat with enemies in the middle of hitting you and they will lose you.
