That worked during the Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan days but not now. Were the two sites related or am I in a befuddled Manhattan haze? He says Kathy Griffins lawyers contacted him and told him it was actionable. Instead of fighting it he just changed the name. Longtime DLister here. I still enjoy it, but it has definitely lost some teeth. Any posts about MeToo I tend to avoid. Certain posters are in love with themselves.
Richbitch is a gay guy, and though sometimes we disagree on some topics, he is hilarious. There used to be more of a mix there more gay guys, a few more straight guys and also women but it sadly has become Frau Central. I don't mean all women there's certainly some very cool women there but there's a lot more of the Frauen mentality now. I got torn to shreds going against the groupthink on Woody Allen re: Dylan and stopped commenting.
God forbid you don't toe the party line there. Hope Michael made a mint; he deserves it. The public and media is decidedly pro Farrow and any one who questions the farrows account will be shredded. I fucking hate that Playa asshole in the comments. They inexplicably have a following and are nasty in a way that just isn't funny. R92 Suckandfuck is an enigma wrapped in a mystery, dipped in a cosmopolitan, and steeped with weed.
He's also quite cute, though no one with a functioning brain would post pictures there now. It used to be somewhat safe but no longer. Too many creepsters.
R Well, it's not like most of us really give a shit about the celebrities well, some people do, but they're weird. But a lot of them have moved on, since the SJWs invaded and made it into the dismal echo chamber it is today. And gifs. Lots and lots of kitten gifs. And the "Sure, Jan" gif which is inevitably followed by "that never gets old!
Um, that was old the 3rd time I saw it. Or if it's a Ben Affleck post, somebody will post the "Hello darkness, my old friend" gif also inevitably followed by someone squealing "that never gets old! To demonstrate how brilliant Dlisted used to be, this comment regarding Teresa Giudice and her ugly kids was enshrined in DL lore:.
Her mate, the old silverback, has just left her for another female. What is wrong with you that you're so scared of liberals that you'd wish a gay site would get overrun by homophobes threatening to kill people on a daily basis?
There are like two gay alt-righties. Everyone else is a troll pretending to be gay, hoping to rope soft-brained simps like you into their little cult. I guess it worked, so now there's three gay alt-righties. I guess I never really took to the comment section, maybe because I only read it back in the day when Mrs.
Patrick Campbell posted and shortly after he was banned. The group of people who were there at the time were very, very pushy about their opinions being right, and everyone else would get shit on. Their opinions were a lot like that one guy who posts here, who insists that everything negative and obviously made up about a celebrity is true, and if you say anything that is even mildly positive, you're a frau who is ruining the website.
It's really weird to me to see all these complaints about people being too PC, or the website forcing groupthink on everyone, whenever the comments have always been about conforming to the vocal "cool table" in-group. Great site and great snark. It's interesting that D-Listed isn't being blackballed and blacklisted by SJWs since a lot of Michael K's put-downs would be considered triggering by now. Outrageapalooza in the chats.
Just check out today's Viggo Mortensen article. R what are they saying about viggo? That site always crashes my phone. But yeah, I've seen comments on other articles and it's definitely PC group think. Agree with the mob or you'll be pilloried. It's become almost as bad as celebitchy.
No one ever made me laugh out loud like Michael K. Tears streaming, clutching my belly laughter. Too bad. I loved it there during the heyday.
I used to be puzzled as to why some of my favorite commenters left for good. Michael K did a write up about the Golden Girls that made me laugh so hard I cried.
Where are they now? Someone finance them and bring them back! Give them a podcast or something. Maybe people are reading this because today the tide turned and people are posting dirt on Meghan Markle over at DListed. The subject of Dlisted's ruin came up on the Jussie Smollett Updates thread. Figured I would bump it.
I read several gay-related sites each day, including Dlisted. Many of the stories between the sites are a rehash of the others, but I can generally find something new that I find interesting on Dlisted. Guess I haven't followed this site as long as some of you, but I don't have any issue with it.
It's gone downhill a lot. The comments have gotten boring and frau-ey and if you don't agree with the 50 year old meth head queen bee in the comments, you're "out. Michael K is funnier in print, I don't think he is as quick on his feet with the humor on his Podcast. The interesting thing about Dlisted is that it's gone downhill in some comment sections while remaining relatively amusing and bitchy in others. Some subjects attract over the top, histrionic group think mentality while others don't.
But too often, the group of "regulars " are allowed to own the place. Indeed R The group think is insane. I remember we all had to pretend to fawn when the "Queen Bee" was "dating" another commenter.
It's too bad that it seems like they have run off commenters, seems to be less people posting there except for the Open Posts. Back then the fraus ruled as well. Bump for the OP of another recent thread and mentioned this one that they started. I had wondered what had happened to my once favorite site. This answered my questions. Thanks OP. Maybe not having read it in the heyday makes it still seem pretty funny but only about tragic celebs.
Like someone said above, the world, and the internet, have changed since DListed's heyday, and what interested someone a decade ago won't necessarily interest them now.
With the exception of DL, I'm not posting at the same places where I was a regular 10 years ago either. I adored Dlisted - it was never about gossip for me, just MK and the commenters - but even I drifted away years ago just because I had other things going on. It's the way of the world. I used to post there too ca. For a while he even fooled me into believing that Shauna Sands and Phoebe Price were actual celebrities. Even back then, the Frau-Factor was high; I learned this the hard way when I made a joke about cellulite.
I loved D-Listed and the stories of Shauna Sand. I work in real estate and had a showing with Shauna complete with her exquisite lucite heels. I was dying thinking of Michael K. The comment section has gone downhill, too many SJWs, I made a sarcastic comment like I have done there for years and somebody got offended.
It's been a couple of years since I was a regular at Dlisted. It used to be a daily stop but it really was Michael K who brought the magic. It's a shame it's no longer what it was but for a good few years there, MK did his abuelita proud. If you don't take a hardline with Nazis, they take over the place. R, for some reason a lot of the commenters on gossip sites are right-wingers who go on about 'liberal elites' and bitch about celebrities expressing any kind of opinion.
It's weird. Allison is not funny, I tried to listen to the podcast and it was lame. Michael K is better in writing. Yes indeed, we too use "cookies. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs. Become a contributor - post when you want with no ads! The Frustrating Demise of Dlisted What happened? I have no idea who many of the people they write about now even are.
Too much promotion of the Kardashian slags. Same here, r1 And it's not just us. He's losing his audience. Yes the comments are pretty lame I don't often read them. The site isn't bad, I think they just need more posts throughout the day. But I sure don't miss all the nasty trolls. He is and always has been hilarious.
It is now owned by the NWO mainstream media criminals, who expelled us long ago btw. I still enjoy Hot Slut of the Day. R21, MK still authors those. That's why they're always good. Mk was a great writer. But I'm just old now. I don't know half the people they write about. R24 nailed it. I stopped visiting after the introduction of the guest writers. I have been there since And, yes, OP, it is frustrating.
I hope MK is okay. It was all downhill for them from there. The only good guest writer was j Harvey. The worst dlisted article is still significantly better than anything from celebitchy. Sorry to hear MK has health issues. Whoopsi meant shred anyone for the slightest mistep.

His email is right there, michaelk dlisted. So I emailed him and nothing. I emailed him again, and nothing again. So I emailed him again and again. He has done a handful of interviews but has revealed, like, next to nothing about his private life.
Michael K was always the anonymous one, even back when he started on January 23, , while working admin at a gay hookup site, because, of course. One drop in the seminal wave of celebrity gossip blogs—and yes that is supposed to sound disgusting. They were all girls or gay guys because even though literally everyone loves gossip, it has always been dismissed along with all the best things in life as a girlie past-time. There was also a contingent of black bloggers arriving in parallel to cover the neglected world of black gossip, including linguistic genius Shareka Roberts Crunk and Disorderly, , bright-eyed Natasha Eubanks Young, Black, and Fabulous, and aspiring mogul Jamarlin Martin Bossip, Obviously, gossip columnists preceded these guys by a million years.
Louella Parsons was the first, around , followed by Hedda Hopper, both of them putting the fear of God into Hollywood weirdly, since the studios basically worked with them. These new gossips were different, though.
